Biography
Cyerra Pemberton is an emerging American soprano known for her vibrant stage presence and versatility across operatic and concert repertoire. As a 2025 graduate of Wright State University, she has already distinguished herself through a series of compelling performances and prestigious honors.
While at Wright State, Pemberton has portrayed a wide range of operatic roles, including Madame Herz in Mozart’s The Impresario, Zita in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, and Rosalinde in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus. She has also been a featured soloist in numerous concerts at the university, including the Concerto Aria Competition showcase, where she was named a 2025 finalist, and the last three of the university’s annual ArtsGalas.
Her concert work further includes solo performances in Craig Hella Johnson’s Considering Matthew Shepard choral suite at Wright State, and in G.F. Handel’s Messiah with the First Baptist Church of Dayton. She has been recognized with several scholarships, including the ArtsGala Scholarship, the Sarah Tipps Scholarship for Music, and the David Lee Keener Memorial Scholarship, among others.
Her current repertoire features a blend of works, including “Ain’t it a pretty night” (Susannah), “Come scoglio” (Così fan tutte), and “Quando me’n vo” (La bohème). She studies with Ginger Minneman and Michael Koon. With a passion for both the operatic stage and concert works, Cyerra Pemberton is poised to make her mark as a dynamic and expressive young artist.
